Кстати, вот ссылка на аналогичный проект в Канаде.

Welcome to the Terraformers Society Canadian homepage. The Terraformers Society is an organisation which has been established in order to study and promote the idea of terraforming our neighbouring world. This mandate extends to the related concepts of caeliforming, para-terraforming, and eco-genesis. Membership is open to Canadians with an interest in the subject.

Terraforming is the process of altering a world so that it is capable of supporting terrestrial life. The definition we use includes temperature, atmospheric composition, moisture levels, and radiation levels. Some researchers also include planetary gravitational field, day length, year length, and planetary axis which governs season length and intensity. The founders of this Society consider these variables as secondary, as our goal is the creation of self-supporting eco-systems. Plants can be modified to exist in longer days and nights, and longer seasons. Animals and humans can adapt to the changes. However the gravitational issue is significant as low gravity worlds near the sun, will loose hydrogen, a basic building block of life. Any civilization that is capable of terraforming a world should be able to maintain hydrogen levels through imports from the outer system, so this should not be something that prevents us from terraforming our neighbours.

We have three neighbours that are capable of supporting life if terraformed: Luna, Mars, and Venus; each presents a unique group of challenges. The bulk of these problems can be dealt with by caeliforming the world. Caeliforming is the process of altering a planet's atmosphere to be capable of supporting terrestrial life. Luna and Mars will require large quantities of gas to be imported, primarily nitrogen and carbon dioxide, along with smaller quantities of sulphur hexafluoride or another non-toxic green house gas. Mars and Luna will also require imports of water, presumably from Ceres, and biomaterial from the Earth. Venus on the other hand needs to have its atmosphere vastly reduced, which can be partially achieved through exporting nitrogen and carbon dioxide to Mars and Luna, and completed by reacting the bulk of the remaining carbon dioxide with imported hydrogen, which would created graphite and enough water to cover 80% of the planet's surface.

Our organisation's goal is to support research in this area, and to build up the resource base on this planet that will be needed to terraform our neighbouring worlds. Membership in our society is open to everyone world-wide, and costs $100 a year. Each member has full access to our website including the society's forum and chat system, an email address at terraformers.ca, and access to the Terraformers voice-mail system, and may get mail redirected through our Society's mail address. Canadian members also get free access to the Terraformers Society international website at terraformers.org.

Так что если вам не жалко 100 долларов в год - добро пожаловать!

Может, и нам такое общество организовать? Хотя бы и по сто рублей.
